for an afternoon of Bulgarian music and dance with two local Bulgarian groups in colorful traditional costumes.

Hopa Trop, directed by Daniela Makedonska, is a Bulgarian children’s folk ensemble.
Its mission is to educate children about Bulgarian culture and traditions, through dance, music, songs and storytelling.

Bulgarian Voices of Seattle Women’s Choir, directed by Mary Sherhart,
is a program of the Bulgarian Cultural and Heritage Center of Seattle.
Formed in 2011, the 30+ singers were all born in Bulgaria and range in age from 23-83.
The choir is joined by Michael Lawson on accordion and vocals.
